I've gone through all the usual fixes—restarted Firefox, the computer, cleared the cache, updated graphics, removed external drives, and even reinstalled Windows. Still nothing. GIMP doesn't export JPGs, Chrome, Edge, and Opera all crash. Firefox works but with occasional issues. Other browsers report a "status access violation." DISM and SFC didn't find anything, and the antivirus scan came back clean. My searches on the web are returning no useful results. Memory diagnostics show 21 MB used in extended mode without cache. It took two days for two attempts and still nothing. The number of changes I made is overwhelming. MEGA folder contains all the relevant information.
The issue doesn't require any downloads. You're seeing odd lines in images and problems with video playback. Artifacts appear on various browsers like Steam and Firefox. The blurry picture comes from GIMP during an error, and the video plays quickly but sometimes shows corrupted screenshots of buggy clips (just a mild example). MP4 format is involved.

motherboard issue wasn't the main concern, the cpu came into play next. Windows was running on an NVMe drive, which helped reduce graphical problems, though they remained visible. Chrome and Edge experienced frequent crashes without any visual artifacts, while Firefox handled graphics fine but still had errors. The latest theory points to the NVMe SSD and CPU being the root cause.
It seems the issue isn't related to the GPU, since capturing screenshots or videos of failing GPUs doesn’t reveal the problems. Reinstalling Windows rules it out too. I suspect the CPU might be the cause, possibly due to issues with its PCIe lanes or faulty pin connections.
it was actually the CPU. I picked up a used Ryzen 9 and it’s all in great shape.
