You're experiencing USB issues with your Dell XPS 15 9520 running Windows 11 Pro. The bottom-right corner displays a malfunction alert when you shut down and restart the laptop, along with a message indicating a USB drive issue. This happens consistently after each shutdown. You have a Thunderbolt 4 port connected to your laptop charger, a USB-C display port linked to a second Thunderbolt 4 port, and a Dell 20A 2-in-1 adapter for HDMI/DVI cables. The USB-C port uses the adapter you mentioned, while the USB ports are connected via the hub. Despite having a wireless mouse and wired keyboard working properly on the hub, the USB device still reports as "Unknown USB Device" with error details. It seems the hub may be handling the connections differently or encountering driver conflicts. Consider checking the hub's ports individually, updating drivers, or testing with a different hub to isolate the problem.

Consider eliminating possibilities step by step to identify the faulty component. I’d start by removing the Sabrent USB hub from the setup. Since the keyboard uses a cable, connect it to the computer’s back panel and place the Bluetooth dongle on the motherboard. With a wired keyboard (Corsair) and a Bluetooth mouse (Logitech), the setup remains consistent. Try disabling as many connections as possible to see which one resolves the issue. One approach that helped was swapping the USB hub for a PCIe card inside the machine. I found a card at NewEgg with seven USB 2 (blue) ports. Working around those ports resolved the beeping sounds and allowed me to remove the Sabrent hub, fixing all my USB problems. Good luck!

You're using a laptop instead of a desktop, so you'll need a port hub to connect peripherals. The XPS 15 9520 doesn't have USB-A ports, making a hub essential for compatibility.

You might link a display port output to a USB C port and then connect it to a Thunderbolt port because these connections aren't standard together. The warning indicates an unexpected USB device was found. Try removing them sequentially or all at once, checking the error each time, until you identify the correct device. After identifying, you can safely leave them disconnected.
