The project appears to be struggling from the start. It’s clear it’s likely to underperform. To illustrate just how poor it is, a clip from a popular YouTuber’s video showed more views than the mysterious 9 launch trailer, even though the first was only available for four hours while the second ran for four days.
It's not an online game that requires Sory servers to run, so there is no reason that Sony will pull it and refund everyone who bought it. So in that sense, it will not be as big of a failure as concord was.
Never encountered it before. Probably a more significant loss depends on how you view it. Did the studio lose over $200 million? Since it's a single-player title, it might actually appeal to you, though the reviews aren’t great.
It seems like the outcome was overlooked without much celebration. At least everyone was aware of Concord's collapse. However, this happened after almost two weeks. I think I'll look up the game again next week.
Once upon a time, folks would visit a rental shop and pick a game based on its cover. There were no reviews or social media posts, yet it still succeeded. Back then, games tended to be better because developers didn’t depend on huge advertising budgets and had to invest more effort into creating them. Those creators were often unknown, which added to the charm.
yah, but just because there always have been bad games doesn't mean there isnt an obvious steep decline in overall quality, the old classics (think sonic etc) are classics for a reason and personally i much prefer ps2/ps3 gen stuff over what comes out nowadays in 99%. video games kinda peaked around 2010/12, now its all just about resolution, "4k" and not gameplay or overall quality... lots of studio closures and buyouts too, which probably doesn't help!
When the game leans heavily on SBI co-founders, most knowledgeable players would steer clear, I’m certain. Besides, I’m busy with Space Marine 2, BM Wukong, Lollipop Chainsaw Repop, Hogwarts Legacy, and The Forever Winter. I’m not considering a fresh title, particularly one with a hidden agenda: https://deidetected.com/games/-unknown-9-awakening
I don't care about games heavily influenced by racist ideologies.
