I just got an ASUS OEM mainboard at a really low price. It didn’t come with an IO shield. Can I find a universal IO shield from China? I’m trying to avoid having one.

Not all boards are the same in terms of input options. Some offer advanced features while others provide minimal functionality. Combining these differences into one list will be quite challenging.

Most OEM boards feature identical ports like USB, Ethernet, jack, and HDMI. These connections are common across many models.

These fundamentals are found on every board (for 3.0 it's z77 and above). However, some models include additional ports such as DL DVI, VGA, or even a PS2 connection.

They might share the same ports, but unless the rear board layout matches exactly, their I/O shields won't work together.

Not always accurate, but even in the same factory, usual OEMs often choose custom hardware (they’re just being stubborn, hehe).
