I updated my CPU from an ASRock Pro4 B365 to a Phantom Gaming 4 B365m and changed the coolers to a Coolerrmaster Hyper 212 Black Edition. The Cinebench R20 score jumped by 100 points, while the 3D Mark Timespy score dropped by 400 points. I gained roughly 150 points in Timespy overall. My CPU temperature stayed below 75°C during all tests, but it fell from 4.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz during the CPU section of Timespy. No one has much info on this yet—I'm looking for advice. Thanks ahead!

3.8ghz provides the main performance boost. Increased all-core speeds last until reaching 3.8ghz. Typical usage. Many users manually raise these chips to 4.8-5.0ghz for better results.

just taking away the power caps will let op reach 4.6 sustained across all cores, which isn't bad. I'm pretty sure a Hyper 212 can manage that—my U12s handled my 9700k at 5.0 GHz around 1.3v quite well.

I've never seen this chip fall in that way before, though I haven't used the BIOS much yet—mostly just to fix a possibly failed Wi-Fi M.2 card. I'm glad you responded.

speedstep controls how the CPU switches between power modes, so it’s best to keep it enabled. I haven’t used an ASRock Intel motherboard before; non-Non-Z series boards don’t restrict TDP limits. In the worst scenario, you might be able to adjust those settings in XTU to maintain 4.6GHz continuously.
