Hello, I just completed my first custom build but it’s not posting. Initially, I had incompatible RAM, which worked once before. Now the computer’s DRAM light is on and nothing seems to resolve the issue. ASUS support confirmed compatibility of my new RAM and recommended testing it on another machine I don’t own.

Specs: ASUS Prime Z690-A Intel i912900KF, EVGA GeForce RTX 3080, 12GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MHz, 16x2 Arctic liquid freezer II, AE-5 Plus Pro-Gaming soundblaster Corsair HX1000, 80+ Platinum power supply, Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 1TB, Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 2TB, housed in a NZXT H710i case. All items were ordered from Amazon.

I’ve placed each RAM stick individually into its slot, but the post still doesn’t happen and the DRAM light stays on. The red CPU indicator flashes briefly before switching to the DRAM light. I’ve re-seated the CPU and inspected the cooler pump. I removed the COM battery and verified all cables.

Should I proceed with a return or repair? I’m really struggling, thank you.

Check if the manual includes a troubleshooting section with error codes. If the same indicators appear consistently, it may point to recurring issues.

The orange indicator relates to DRAM, and I've been looking online but haven't found a clear explanation.

Turn off the system and press the CMOS reset button located at the bottom of the motherboard. Have you attempted this using just one RAM stick?
