Hello everyone, I'm experiencing frequent ping spikes even when testing just my router. This is really frustrating because it's affecting my online gaming experience. I used to have no such issues, but recently they started happening. The packet loss seems consistent too. I plan to share a graph from PingPlotter showing my pings to the router. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What router are you using? It appears to be overheating. Do you have alternative Ethernet cables available? Could switching the ports on the router help with connectivity? Have you attempted to reinstall the drivers for your network adapter?

I own a Sky Q router based in the UK. It's running warmly, though it's not performing well. I have additional Ethernet connections, but they're too short to connect from the router to my PC. The issue isn't likely with the Ethernet ports themselves since they're new and packet loss also occurs over WiFi. The test image provided is via WiFi, but I'll use one connected by Ethernet instead. I've already tested various Ethernet ports and tried updating drivers through Device Manager, which reported the latest available versions for my PC.

Check if your PC is installing files without your knowledge. Could be Windows updates happening silently. Ensure your router and PC were restarted. Test by booting from a Live Linux USB to confirm the issue persists.

You're checking the last traceroute to Google, but the packet loss remains very high.

Hi, it seems you're experiencing some connectivity issues. You mentioned rebooting the router but not your PC, and PingPlotter reports no packet loss on the mobile version while you're on your PC. You're also curious about a Live Linux USB and don't have one yet. Your ping results from yesterday via Ethernet are different today, which is puzzling.

Not sure about your request. Could you clarify what you'd like me to do?

Start your machine using a Linux USB drive to determine if the issue lies with hardware or Windows.
