Unigine Heaven shutting down GTX 1080 OC
Unigine Heaven shutting down GTX 1080 OC
Hey guys,
I was attempting to adjust my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X a bit.
But the unigine heaven benchmark keeps shutting down in the middle of the test (which suggests the clocks might be unstable).
However, the clock speeds aren't extremely high, and I don’t notice any artifacts.
Here’s the afterburner log:
Afterburner Log
The first GPU usage drop causes the benchmark to freeze, and at the final drop it just stops.
I’m not sure if the clocks are too high or if there’s another issue like a drive, PSU, or RAM problem.
Hardware details:
Motherboard: MSI Z390 Tomahawk
CPU: i5-9600k
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X
PSU: EVGA Supernova 650Gold
RAM: HyperX Predator 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666
Disks: WD Black NVMe SSD, M.2 - 250GB
Samsung SSD 860 EVO, 2.5" - 1TB
Western Digital 3.5 HDD 1 TB
Any tips or advice would be great!
First, check if the benchmark was run at stock speeds to confirm the issue lies with the GPU. Second, remember that clock speeds don't always reflect real performance—overclocking doesn't mean clocks are high; the lottery is independent of what the GPU can handle.
