Unexpected slow performance in BF1 at 980 frames per second
It looks like overnight my FPS dropped sharply in BF1. There were clear drops and many players noticed it. My setup is: 980 Ti, non-overclocked i5 4690K, non-overclocked 8 GB RAM at 1600MHz. I’m trying to figure out what caused the lag and if others are seeing the same issue.
The I5s are being targeted because they don’t have threads, which appears to impact multiplayer sessions. It’s unusual that this began recently—temperatures?
The temperatures are pleasant everywhere, the i5 stays under 68°C across all cores, and the 980 Ti operates smoothly at a maximum of 59°C.
The winter update was delayed several weeks ago. Were you aware of the changes before or after the update?
Immediately after the update, everything functioned properly. The only issue observed now is the recent drops. This wasn’t a problem before the update.
I only changed my drivers after seeing the frame rate drop, but it didn’t improve anything.
I've got the same card and I can confirm one thing—the FPS. About two or three weeks ago, FIFA 17 seemed a bit laggy. The gameplay didn’t feel smooth, though I’m not sure if it’s just me or a widespread issue. Recently, my NVIDIA FPS overlay shows a steady 300+ FPS. My CPU temperature is around 60°C during playtime.
I attempted, though regrettably it granted my 980 ti excessive control. It has eliminated most of my kin and is now spreading fear across my town.
