Unexpected Frame Rate Fluctuations
Unexpected Frame Rate Fluctuations
Recently, I've experienced intermittent frame rate fluctuations—previously, my system consistently achieved 60 frames per second without difficulty. My hardware hasn’t been updated, and I've attempted driver updates and rollbacks, as well as a complete reinstall of Windows 10 after erasing the solid-state drive. I’ve also experimented with overclocking both my processor and graphics card, but saw no positive changes. I’ve exhausted most of the troubleshooting steps I could identify, and this problem continues to occur. I suspect a hardware malfunction, so I’m seeking advice from the community regarding potential solutions. Here are my system specifications:
CPU: AMD FX-8320 8-core processor at 4000 MHz
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
16 GB RAM
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM
PSU: 700W Evga
I would appreciate any further suggestions you might have… Additionally, I thoroughly checked the registry related to digital video recorder software. Thank you in advance.
My understanding is that this processor’s speed decreases substantially when it reaches elevated temperatures. Previously, I owned an 8350 and experienced temperatures of 48 degrees Celsius while running Battlefield 4 at maximum settings. Regularly cleaning the interior of your computer chassis would be beneficial.
Some time ago, I completed that task and subsequently installed a fresh liquid cooling setup. However, these problems are relatively new, and I’ve been tracking my system's temperatures even during rigorous testing – they only reach approximately 20 degrees Celsius.
