undervolting or not?
You won't notice much improvement. I've just completed the undervolting of my 12400, only reducing the Vcore by 0.020 (from 1.028 to 1.010). It seems these processors are already very efficient and smart. I ran Cinebench 23 to verify. The results were unexpected—no crashes, just lower scores. Edited June 12, 2023 by leclod
That's why many people claim you consume less power with UV, but in my experience it isn't always the case. Activating PBO with the appropriate settings felt like turning it into beast mode on my 3600... I also wondered if it was risky to see it spike to around 130W, though everyone I asked said it was manageable as long as heat stayed under control ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *P.S.: I'm not entirely sure but it seemed like PBO "advanced" at -200 voltage and +200 frequency (the frequency part didn't really matter much since temperatures were a bit lower and benchmarks stayed stable).*
It seems the high frequency struggled to maintain peak performance due to limited voltage. Lower voltage enabled it to operate at its rated speed while using less power, since chips often receive a slight overvoltage to ensure stability at normal clock speeds.
