Undervolt am AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
You aim to lower your CPU voltage for the Ryzen 5 2600X to boost performance and cooling. For your MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, research the recommended LLC voltage range and determine how much to reduce. Use stress testing tools like Prime95 or AIDA64 to monitor stability and performance under load.
Removing the voltage won<|pad|> can improve pbo. It's an overclock. Edited July 4, 2020 by TofuHaroto
You can modify PBO power limits in your BIOS. A video from Buildzoid covers this topic. You also have the option to apply a negative voltage offset, though some users report instability. I suggest at least attempting a manual overclock. If you experience stability problems and become frustrated, reverting to PBO might help, but I find manual overclocking delivers better performance and lower heat compared to PBO on my 3600s. Both reach a stable 4.2ghz at 1.25V across all cores. The default BIOS setting places my chip at 1.35V at 4ghz when using PBO or stock. As with any overclock, experimentation is key. Undervolting won’t harm your CPU, but it may cause issues; proceed cautiously. Start gradually and increase slowly or begin higher if you’re confident. *Note* I also use medium LLC on my Gigabyte board, but only adjusted it after reaching 4.4ghz all-core at 1.35V. Check HWInfo to see how voltage changes under stress. Gradually raise LLC if you notice significant drops, or maintain it until you can handle a heavy workload. Also, remember that LLC ratings vary between manufacturers—review Buildzoid’s content for guidance. Avoid pushing LLC too high, as it can damage your processor.
