I'm thinking about purchasing a PC soon, and I expect RAM to limit performance. I'm considering options like the 3090/90Ti, possibly with a 12900k chip (boosted by cooling, maybe up to 6GHz on all cores, though not guaranteed), some DDR5 RAM around 8000 CL 30, depending on future speed. I want to stream heavily and maintain at least 60fps consistently, which my current setup can't achieve. Upgrading RAM could help, but there are concerns: I'm unsure how crucial cooling and TECs are for RAM performance, and I don't know if any RAM has a cooling solution.

For DDR4 there are videos where builders mention temperature sensitivity, while others like Micron appear less affected. For DDR5 I’m not sure yet. There seem to be reports of higher temps and active cooling needs. With your setup (60fps, streaming) everything looks fine.

I’m likely relying on G.Skill’s DDR4 results, so I expect they’ll handle DDR5 well—it’s mainly about speed, not just size. My confidence is high that the i7-8700+GTX 1080 won’t work, probably because of RAM speed limits. For cooling options, any suggestions for TEC or cryo solutions would be helpful.

That was a mistake. It's surprising an 8700k can't run at 60fps without NVIDIA's tool. Are you using dual-channel memory?

I'm using nvenc with four sticks, and the motherboard has four slots.

Many viewers watch at 60 frames per second on a budget. Regardless, there are numerous other setups combining an 8700K/1080 resolution with a $5000+ setup using 12900K/3090/Cryo chilled cameras.

Several Minecraft servers rely heavily on armor stands and other items to achieve specific outcomes. Entities can cause lag, so I’d also like a balanced mid-range objective for myself.

I’d likely ask in the Minecraft subreddit about this, suggesting a smaller chunk size or reduced draw distance. But I’m not really into that game much.

It isn<|pad|> or fixes in Minecraft settings or mods won’t help—it’s now a hardware issue.

We currently lack sufficient details about DDR5 to provide any insights. DDR4 performance may vary based on the manufacturer.
