Understanding how to prevent random window resizing when clicking on it.
Understanding how to prevent random window resizing when clicking on it.
Hi there, I’ve got a relatively new and updated system:
x570 ASUS TUF,
5800x,
6900xt,
Windows 11.
Recently, while playing games or using Windows, certain apps would randomly encounter issues when I clicked on them. For example, games like Valorant would appear between my monitors or shrink into a tiny box, and browsers or other apps would move to smaller corners. I’m pretty sure it’s related to the mouse, though I’m not entirely sure.
The programs I have running all the time are:
Google Drive,
Wallpaper Engine,
Riot Vanguard,
Signal RGB,
Discord,
Kingston Dashboard,
Lian Li Connect,
Samsung Magician,
Spotify,
and G Hub.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
I was playing valorant right after posting in fullscreen and after moving around and clicking this, it changed resolution and moved.
Hi there, I’ve got a relatively new and updated configuration:
Mobo: X570 ASUS TUF
CPU: Ryzen 5800X
GPU: 6900 XT
OS: Windows 11
Recently, while gaming or using Windows, certain programs would unexpectedly encounter issues when I clicked on them. For example:
- Games like Valorant would appear between my monitors or shrink to a tiny box.
- Browsers and other applications would move to corners at reduced resolution.
I’m fairly sure the problem lies with my mouse, as it happens occasionally when I click, though I’m not entirely certain.
The applications running continuously are:
Google Drive, Wallpaper Engine, Riot Vanguard, Signal RGB, Discord, Kingston Dashboard, Lian Li Connect, Samsung Magician, Spotify, and G Hub.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Extra note: Fast mouse movements while clicking seem to trigger the issue, but it shouldn’t move windows around unless it’s just selecting text.
My mouse is a G502, keyboard a Keychron Q1V2. I also have an external USB hub with a microphone plugged in and an SD card reader, if that’s relevant.
All of those applications...
Turn off all of them before they start.
Check if the screen/mouse actions work.
If not, re-enable each app one at a time, giving enough time (at least a full restart or two) between each.
See if reinstalling one app fixes the issue. That app is probably the cause.
Additional steps:
Use Windows built-in troubleshooters. They might resolve the problem.
Execute "sfc /scannow" and "dism".

Record your actions and results.
I've reviewed each app and it continues to happen. I've also executed sfc /scannow, which showed normal outcomes, but the issue remains unpredictable. Do you have any additional suggestions or information you'd like to share?
The more applications you use, the greater the chances of encountering issues. Disable all apps unless they are immediately necessary.
All replies seem completely irrelevant here. This could very well be the Microsoft help forum. You really should feel bad about it. The person asking the question obviously did their research and every answer is basically asking if they forgot to try something they already tried. This is clearly a problem that goes beyond the usual low-quality information people find online. That’s why they’re here. You should thank the person for wasting their time. Idiots.
The "well what's your solution?!?" reply (A) doesn't actually address what I mentioned; (B) is not relevant. Whether or not I have a solution has no connection to whether what I said is correct; and © is the kind of comment made by someone lacking critical thinking abilities.
