Hello, thank you for reviewing this article. I hope someone can assist or offer guidance. In short, my uncle had a 2001 Volvo XC70 with transmission issues. The last step before replacing the gearbox was to switch the car into adapt mode. On a limited budget, he used a product called Vida dice (linked below). It requires a Windows 7 Professional PC and the software must be installed on the C: drive. Our challenge is we don’t have that OS setup, so my uncle chose to skip my suggestion of using Virtual Box and installing the necessary Windows version himself. He attempted a fresh installation, which likely reformatted the drive and affected drivers—especially the network card driver. My main concerns are: how to obtain drivers for an older pre-built system, and what are the odds that the Vida dice software would recognize the C: drive if we run it in Virtual Box with Windows 7 Professional? Thank you for your time—I truly appreciate it. Link for Vida dice on eBay: Here

Visit the manufacturer's website, use the support area to look up the model number for downloading drivers and similar files. Without details about your PC or its brand, assistance is limited.

For a Packard Bell (owned by Acer), visit the provided link and input your model details to obtain drivers. If it's a Compaq (a division of HP), use the HP support page. You'll need the model number, which might be on a label on the front, sides, back, or even inside the device.

Pre-built units share the same drivers as individual parts, which is interesting—maybe you've picked up something new each day. Thanks for your feedback, Tepest! Also, I might still consider running a VM for the tools software, though a bootable USB of W7P seems necessary if not.

Sure, happy to assist. It seems you're wondering why you couldn't start a virtual machine on that device, assuming you understand the process. I won't share personal details, but I can explain what might be happening.
