Hello! Yes, you'll need to uninstall any drivers or software tied to your current AMD 3100 before installing the AMD 5500. Just swap the hardware and proceed with the installation. Let me know if you need help with the steps!

You probably need to upgrade the BIOS on your motherboard. Can you tell me the model you have and the current BIOS version?

The BIOS update can be performed before or after the MSI A320m-a pro max installation.

The BIOS update should be completed prior to installing the new CPU on the motherboard. Are you familiar with verifying your BIOS version or navigating into the BIOS settings? Please tag me or respond to my post so I can receive a notification when you've made this update.

The latest MSI Live Update has been completed, showing no recent updates since last year. The image below displays the most recent AMD chipset update applied today, along with the current MB Bios version.

Begin the PC setup. Press DEL or F12 quickly to spam. You’ll move into the BIOS. At the top left, it should display the exact BIOS version you’re using on that board. Version 2.40 could be relevant, but not for this model—it might appear as something else like 7C52v22.

I think BIOS version E7C52AMS.240 refers to the 7C52v24 BIOS on the motherboard BIOS section. It was released on November 11, 2019. BIOS version 7C52v2F supports Ryzen 5000 CPUs, so you should update the BIOS for the Ryzen 5500 to ensure compatibility. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-A-PRO-MAX/support If you require assistance updating the BIOS, feel free to ask. The website mentions needing the latest Beta BIOS version, which seems unusual.

I’ll need to complete this in a few weeks now, as I’m currently working on video editing tasks and don’t want any issues. Your support was invaluable. I’ll update you once I’ve made the changes. You’re a legend, sir!
