My PC has been working well for about a year and a half after the upgrade. Initially everything seemed normal, but once the CPU warms up, it often crashes to a black screen and the mainboard LED lights up. It stays in that state until I press the reset button. Using Prime95 I can recreate the issue in around five minutes. The Windows Log mentions the system rebooted without a clean shutdown. I've tried disabling XMP profiles, updating BIOS and drivers, and checking connections. My specs are: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (BIOS 09/27/2021, latest), 4x8GB Crucial DDR4-3600 RAM, GTX 1080 Ti, 1TB SSD via M.2, and a 700W quiet PSU. Power plan is 9 CM Modular 80+ Bronze. Someone here might have an idea—could it be a CPU defect requiring an RMA?
It appears there’s a memory issue, though it seems to have started when you installed the new CPU and opened additional configurations. Running a memory integrity check would be wise. It’s possible the problem is isolated to the new CPU, which also has its own memory. The logs aren’t showing a blue screen but rather frequent crashes that complicate analysis. Are you using the same cooling solution as before for this chip? The newer CPU generates more heat, so monitoring temperatures could help identify the cause.
Thanks for the replay. I ran memtest86 overnight and found no issues. My new cooler for the processor is "Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4," but it doesn’t seem fully effective. The temps hit around 90°C quickly, yet the CPU throttles and stays stable near 80°C. Something else caught my eye: "Ryzen Master" appears to improve crash rates significantly. Prime95 works fine, but opening "Ryzen Master" causes crashes within minutes—even just for checking temps. So far, I haven’t opened it for testing, not because it’s rare, but because a crash happened after playing Doom for three hours. That’s unusual; the CPU shouldn’t be that stressed. I logged sensor data with HWINFO, but I can’t pinpoint anything meaningful. Maybe someone with more time could help by reviewing logs? log1.CSV

I attempted but didn’t succeed. I wasn’t aware of the “genericlogviewer” feature. Regardless, I’m unsure if it works with screenshots. The most helpful data would be min, max, and average values, plus just heat levels and CPU usage. If anything unusual appears, a closer look might be beneficial.
