Hello, thank you for your quick reply. I reached the same point as you did (M.2_2 corresponds to the CPU, M.2_1 to the chipset), but since this was the only source where I found this detail, I felt a bit uncertain about its accuracy on the site. Even the board manual doesn’t mention it clearly, which means there’s less information there compared to the internet. Moreover, when examining the logical downgrade path for ASUS ITX boards (like the Strix I-Gaming), the Strix has the two M.2 ports oriented differently. After contacting ASUS about my question, my doubts only grew. I think I’ll try using the M.2_2 slot for my drive, but I’m still unsure how to check it in the BIOS or elsewhere for any indication of its connection. I searched through the Asus BIOS on a Stix X570 E-Gaming (my dad’s machine) but didn’t find any obvious labels. Based on the build, I was able to identify from several YouTube videos that the upper slot—closer to the CPU socket—is typically for the CPU.

It seems I missed this detail multiple times while checking the manual. Thanks for the patience! I’m ready to proceed confidently with the M.2_2 now.

It's easy to miss things when you've been focused on details for a long time. A new perspective can really help.
