I understand DDR might not have brought significant improvements, possibly just a small upgrade. However, DDR has been introduced every 5-6 years on the market, and it seems like the next release could be DDR5 in 2022. So... it's not just about DDR performance anymore. The last year was for AM4 sockets, and the upcoming generation will likely offer much better performance due to the new socket design.

Someone understands we might get a typical 10-20% improvement from AMD Ryzen, so why not wait?

For a fresh PC, DDR5 memory might come at a higher cost.

And mostly based on what early adopters are doing. If you need a PC right away, buy one once prices stabilize. If you're okay with waiting a few years without upgrading, skip it.
