Overclocking also involves adjusting the settings a bit more? If so, I might consider it again later.

Essentially, you shouldn't worry too much. Overclocking capabilities vary based on the chip maker and the specific version of the RAM stick. Some versions allow higher frequencies than advertised, while others don’t benefit much from voltage increases. A B-die and a D-die might differ in construction but still meet advertised specs. Differences in internal design mean some can run faster with slight voltage boosts, whereas others may not gain much. Manufacturers adjust these details for cost reasons—smaller sizes are cheaper to produce, or they can fit more chips per disc. For instance, B-die chips might be limited to 1 GB, while D-die chips can reach up to 2 GB, making it more economical for RAM makers to use the latter.
