I purchased the new i9 12900k processor and used an MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 motherboard. I’m facing issues with the game Fortnite, especially with the frame, but I don’t know what’s causing it.

Are you experiencing problems only with Fortnite? If so, it might relate to game settings. Check your task manager to see if CPU usage or temperatures are unusually high. If the issue isn't specific to another game, it could be a broader game-related problem.

The problem lies with the engine. Fortnite is quite memory and graphics intensive, especially when using fast RAM like Zen. I’m not sure if the gap between heavily overclocked RAM and the standard XMP 3200C16 is the same as what Intel offers. The performance differences across the three APIs—DX12, DX11, and Performance API—can be quite significant. Also, fullscreen optimization can really hurt Fortnite’s experience; if you haven’t turned it off yet, make sure to enable it in the compatibility settings for the Fortnite executable.
