Were trying to enable xmp or the amd equivalent on my buddies PC but with the current F14 bios it doesn't support it (ram currently at 2133). Specs: B550M DS3H AC, Ryzen 7 3700X, ill have to double check the gpu but even without it plugged in we couldn't see the bios Tried: We've tried probably 20 times resetting and clearing cmos, all the output ports on the gpu as well as motherboard with and without the gpu in the system. We cannot even see the bios which is the main issue. When trying to enter the bios we've spammed F2 as well as DEL and we get to the black screen limbo state where the fans are consistent and stay lit up but nothing happens, the monitor detects input but we don't see anything. We have used a fat32 8gb thumbstick with the F17 bios file named GIGABYTE.BIN in the white port on the motherboard labeled bios several times, as well as using the app center and "@bios" app to try and update it through windows. When we used the thumbstick the fans and lights stayed on after spamming end to try and just kick it right into the flash because this version of the motherboard doesn't come with the little button on the back to do it. The result is a black screen that doesn't say no input it just stays black and never flashes or does anything but sit there. When we ran the app the window just closes and nothing happens. We have powered it on and off multiple times and it still boots into windows completely fine. Also tried with just the keyboard plugged in. Not sure what to do so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
What display port is connected to the card? Is it DP or HDMI? The motherboard can't display images since no graphics are integrated into the CPU. For 1000 series cards, NVIDIA offers a firmware update here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-...pdate-x64/
All of them, we turned it on and off multiple times trying all 4 ports, 2DP 2HDMI It is a newer card and the system was built maybe a year or 2 ago. He just didn't know about xmp Im just waiting on a reply for the exact card he's using but im 99% sure its an AMD card w up to date drivers Sorry, we've been troubleshooting this for a couple days around each others work schedules.
we did, there is a program called app utility from gigabyte with an app called "@bios" and we tried it multiple times running as admin and what not and it wouldnt even initiate it. It's on w11 btw The problem is this BIOS firmware doesnt support the change we want to make so we have to update it or there isn't a point.
Startup and log in to Windows. Navigate to power settings then select what the power buttons perform. Disable "Turn on fast startup" to keep it off. This may provide additional time. If this doesn<|pad|>, consider connecting a wired keyboard to USB 2.0 ports and a wired mouse to a 2.0 port. Check how long the GPU has been installed in the PC. Did you remove it recently? Ensure it is securely placed. Also, test with another monitor, as some display types respond faster. Use the DEL key correctly.
We repeated the process without fast boot, same outcome—black screen with fans spinning. Waited over ten minutes and checked all displays. Pressing f10 then entering caused a reboot, showing we were in BIOS but receiving no output. The GPU is properly seated since we successfully launched Windows and the CS file worked.
