Unable to update Windows 10, searching for ISO image.
I gathered a fresh setup (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zwbRcc) and installed an older Windows 10 version. I wasn’t too concerned because updates could be updated via Windows Update, but now I’m facing many problems with built-in updates and support for Windows 10 updates. Recently, I tried the Microsoft Media Creation Tool but it got stuck at 0%. TL;DR – I’m looking for a trusted source to download the latest Windows 10 ISO, specifically version 1703 Creator Edition, outside of Microsoft.
I didn't attempt various PCs, but I can handle that. It will just require a bit of time to reach out to a friend.
Ensure all devices are removed from the motherboard except the one you intend to install Windows on. Preferably place the USB containing the Creation Tool into a USB 2.0 port when available. The Tool may reject USB 3.0 or 3.1 formats, so only have the Windows Media Creation Tool and the designated drive connected during installation. You’ll need your keyboard, mouse, and display, but only one drive should be active. Perform a full erase, initialize, format, etc., to allow the Tool to install a clean Windows 10 copy. Patience is key; the process will finish smoothly once you wait. Use a USB with more than 4 gigabytes capacity.
I downloaded the 1703 update using this tool. It connects to various non-official servers that offer different Windows versions. You can obtain the ISO file there and then execute it, which functions similarly to how Windows updates operate.
