Yes, you could record it onto a CD. A laptop from 2010 likely had a hard drive, so converting the data would be possible.

Have another machine available, take out its hard drive and exchange it for the laptop's. Then install Windows and reinstall it. Otherwise, a USB drive might be an option, though it isn't guaranteed.
