Unable to start Windows with Samsung 980Pro device.
I recently replaced my board CPU and SSD, but I can't boot from the 980 1TB SSD. It appears in BIOS but not in my boot settings. I managed to install Windows 10, but not from it. I need my old 960 OS installed with the current setup, and during startup I get a choice to select the operating system. That's what I'm trying to do with the 980. What's happening?
Remove the old OS from the 960 before installing it on the 980. Make sure the 980 is placed correctly on the motherboard and use the Windows Media Creation Tool for the installation.
If you own two Samsung drives, a simpler method exists. Place the 980 in an NVME slot and retain your 960 in its current location. Utilize Samsung's software to duplicate the 960 onto the 980, then adjust the boot sequence in the BIOS.
