Hello, I've upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 2600 to a 5800X3D. Now I can't boot into Windows at all—every time I start the computer, it jumps straight to BIOS. If I try to exit BIOS, it just loops back again. My motherboard is an MSI B450 Tomahawk with BIOS version E7C02AMS.1I0 (the newest). Inside the BIOS it recognizes all my drivers, but somehow it can't boot them (photo attached).

Windows 11 or 10? Did it have secure boot or TPM beforehand?

The system is running version 10. I’m not sure if secure boot was enabled. However, in the BIOS it appears to be set as follows:

If TPM was active before the CPU update, it may lead to Windows boot problems. I’d consider either reinstalling Windows completely or reinserting the previous CPU into the motherboard. Replacing the old CPU might require disabling secure boot and TPM before switching to the new one again. This is how TPM is meant to work for security purposes.

Check Windows configurations for secure boot and TPM settings. Adjust them in the system preferences or advanced settings.

In BIOS, refer to the image you just sent. You can enable Security Device support and turn off Secure Boot in the boot settings.

I restored my R5 2600 and checked the BIOS settings. Turned off Security Device support after confirming everything works in Windows. Added the 5800X3D chip. Restarted into BIOS and re-enabled Security Device support. When I tried to boot into Windows, it refused access. Concerned about Secure Boot settings—seems they aren't available in the BIOS configuration options.

I located the secure boot setting. I disabled it, but Windows 5800x3d was already installed. Should I disable it again while installing R5 2600?

Ensure the security feature is turned off before installing 5800x3d.
