I set up Kubuntu 16.04/16.10 on a 4TB WD storage from a Dell Optiplex 950 SFF using Unetbootin. The setup appears to complete without issues, but when I restart the system it behaves differently based on the device. On my Razer Blade it doesn’t recognize the drive at all (same with the installation process), while the Dell and MacBook Air boot into GRUB rescue mode. I’ve installed Kubuntu to the internal drive on the Dell machine using the same install media, and that works perfectly, leaving me uncertain about what’s happening on my other devices.
