Unable to start from BIOS for Ryzen 7800X3D model
During startup, your screen fails to receive a signal for roughly thirty seconds before launching Windows. Pressing <DEL> at that moment causes the system to crash entirely. The main computer functions normally once it boots, but accessing BIOS is problematic. Possible causes include hardware issues or boot configuration problems.
It seems you're experiencing a mismatch between your BIOS settings and what Windows reports. This often happens when the BIOS runs in UEFI but the GPU only works in legacy mode, or vice versa. The system might automatically switch to the integrated graphics (iGPU) or the dedicated GPU. Try connecting the display to the opposite port and observe the behavior. Adjusting the default display settings to use the dedicated GPU instead of the iGPU could help. Providing more details about your hardware and BIOS version would allow for a more precise recommendation.

You might restart your system to access your motherboard's BIOS settings.
Here are some alternative suggestions:
- I attempted that method but faced issues; could you share more details?
- Here are a few other approaches you might try.
- Let me know if you need further guidance on this.
You're experiencing the same problem with your system. The issue appears only at 6.000MHz or when using the EXPO profile, despite normal performance in stock settings. Booting with a black screen and entering credentials works fine, and the monitor recognizes itself after power cycles. Everything functions well afterward, including benchmarks. This seems unusual and frustrating. Your hardware includes an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GTX 1060, RTX 4090, and other components.
Do you have several monitors linked? I’d recommend turning off all but one. Ideally, connect through HDMI (DP works too, though some sources suggest the graphics card prefers DVI → HDMI → DP). You mentioned having a Gigabyte 970 that shows nothing from any of them. Later you realized you need to unplug a 4K monitor using DisplayPort. On the other hand, that device is owned by your boyfriend and we switch between his PC and yours via the built-in KVM. He has a 7700X and 4080. The same 4K model can show BIOS if connected via HDMI to an MSI RTX4080 Gaming Trio—but it’s also the only one plugged in, which caused issues displaying BIOS until you updated the monitor’s firmware. The 4K unit is a MSI Optix-MPG321UR-QD.
Make sure to inspect the screen on your motherboard. The board my brother uses has an ASUS X670E-F, using its original BIOS, but the UEFI isn't showing up through the graphics card unless the PCIe slot speed is manually adjusted to PCIe4. I spent a lot of time figuring this out while setting up his system. *This problem was resolved by updating the ASUS BIOS about a month ago, and now the PCIe slot speed auto-sets without issues.*
So i just got everything new and set up, and i'm having the exact same issue as above did anyone find a fix in the meantime? I Was able to get into BIOS previoulsy updating the BIOS enabled expo, did some other stuff, few hours later i wanted to go back to BIOS and my keyboard is off way to long, i see no ''press DEL to enter BIOS'', and SHIFT + restart just gives me a black screen where if i press enter i go back into windows like nothing happend.
