It seems there could be a CPU problem, especially with your 2700x model. You experienced slow performance at lower memory speeds, eventually leading to a BSOD during Windows installation. After replacing the CPU with an AMD one and boosting it from 3000MHz to 3400MHz, you're now running smoothly.
The need to increase DRAM voltage arises only when memory performance demands higher speed or tighter timing, not just during normal operation. Raising the voltage doesn’t assist in those scenarios. DRAM voltage isn’t related to communication between the IMC and memory. The issue likely lies with signal integrity between the IMC and memory controller—consider adjusting the VTTDDR voltage to 0.75V. Also, enable Memory Gear Down Mode in the memory timing settings. You should also know how to identify whether your system uses single or dual-rank memory, as this impacts performance limits for certain configurations.
I should have been more careful with my posting. There are two sticks (according to the OP) in the wrong slots — currently I have two sticks in Dimms B1 and two in B2. I was using XMP, which is what the post mentioned. Gear down is for CAS latency (his RAM is CL16). He can leave it auto (enabled). IMC on Ryzen is quite strict, let alone running four sticks. With 32GB of memory on a relatively picky Ryzen controller, you can check if his memory is single or dual-ranked by looking up the specs. The F4-360016D-16GTZNC has chips on one side or both. You should refer to Memory channels — whether dual or single (likely single channel A or B). Something like that. Anyway, I don’t have much time, but I need to increase the RAM voltage a bit for extra memory. Also, DOCP likely requires some memory and IMC training to run it smoothly.
