Hello. Your Ryzen 5 5600X has been boosted from 3700Mhz to 4500Mhz and is overheating as a result. Whenever you play certain games, the system restarts itself. You've tried various methods to reset the overclock, but none have succeeded. Someone could assist you with this issue.

I don’t recall ever increasing its speed. I’ve looked at Ryzen Master and the BIOS settings, and they both list the standard configuration.

It's unusual. You might benefit from lowering the voltage in the BIOS to assist with the heating problem. My 3700x operates at 4.3 at 1.3v, whereas it usually runs around 1.45 when allowed to run independently. They also have a boost clock—when the CPU is under stress, it increases its frequency. I also want to confirm a few details: what cooler are you using? How much thermal paste should you apply? Is the cooler tightly secured so it maintains good contact with the CPU?

I had to use every ounce of my expertise to calm him, making sure his 3090 wouldn’t overheat and produce that blue smoke if it hit 50°C.

I had to use every ounce of my expertise to calm him, making sure his 3090 wouldn’t overheat and produce that blue smoke if it hit 50°C.

I have an EKWB Basic 240 AIO equipped with two Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fans. I applied a small amount of thermal paste and secured the cooler firmly.

This may lower performance slightly, but keep an eye on temperatures to assess the effect.

I disabled the precision boost before sharing the issue. My processor speed fluctuates between 3675Mhz and 4525Mhz even when idle.
