I assisted someone in reinstalling Windows 10 on their computer. The motherboard and hard drive were replaced, and we restored the OS. After installation, accessing the system via file explorer works, but restoring from an image backup fails. The technician performed a full backup to an external drive beforehand. When the drive is connected, it appears in Explorer, yet restoring from it triggers an error. How can we fix this issue?

When you set up a brand-new Windows version, you can't recover the old setup without erasing it. If you need to bring back the earlier configuration, it's doable by using the identical tool you used for the initial installation.
