Unable to reach Recovery mode on Windows 10.
I’m attempting to clean up my PC for sale. I started in safe mode and navigated to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. When I clicked recovery, the message appeared: “the system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This over run could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.” The session ended and the desktop closed.
Use the Media Creation Tool on a different PC and as @C2dan88 mentioned reformat.
You should try a different recovery option. Google may be restricting your access to certain tabs.
The media creation tool is employed to generate a bootable USB drive for installing Windows. During installation, the drive will be formatted, which will erase all existing data on it.
It seems you're suggesting they should use a verified Microsoft tool. Let me know if you'd like to clarify further.
