Unable to reach LAN networks in Minecraft.
I attempted to use IPconfig and connect directly via the desktop's IP address and Minecraft port. When trying on my laptop, it prompts for login but then shows an error about maintenance downtime. On the laptop, connecting to any server works fine, though the LAN remains unavailable. The firewall whitelists javaw.exe and the launcher, which is frustrating. The Wi-Fi signal is strong (2.4GHz), same version, and a TP-link booster is plugged in but not appearing in the list. The issue persists despite pinging via cmd. Any suggestions?
You've adjusted firewall settings on both machines and ensured ample RAM. You're running a single-player game on the LAN, using two separate Minecraft accounts with identical versions and settings. Despite that, you're experiencing frequent interruptions between 30 minutes to over an hour of gameplay. On Windows, the issue appeared only during playtime, not in offline mode, while on Linux Mint 20 it persisted even with longer sessions.
I also discovered a fix! You just need an official Minecraft account. Launch the launcher on one of the computers, and make sure the machine connecting must have an official account. Having the official account on the PC with LAN open is optional. The issue happened because I was using Tlauncher, but switched to MCleaks on the official launcher. It didn’t show up in LAN even though I used the IVP4 address and port number.
