Does Windows 10 require a secure boot configuration? I've never come across that term before.
I'm setting up the Windows ISO atm and will inform you if anything differs. The only 'Security' area in the main tab lets you choose admin or user passwords, not the secure boot option. I've attached some images of the ASUS BIOS for better understanding, and included the Secure Boot section. This process has been done multiple times before, and I've also reset the CMOS.
Consider installing the SSD on a different machine, then format it using Disk Management (look for it in the Start menu). Also, try this method.
Do you have any existing drives you plan to retain, or are you starting from scratch? If not keeping anything, consider removing partitions elsewhere using tools like gparted first, then retry installation. Note that the issue may stem from MBR partitions not supporting UEFI and Secure Boot—converting them might help, but clearing them with gparted could be quicker. Running the install media without partitions should let it generate proper GPT partitions as expected.
MBR is an older partitioning method that wasn't used as the main system before UEFI (referring to Windows 7 era). It doesn’t support Secure Boot or large drives well, so it’s best to avoid using it and instead use GParted to remove partitions directly. I’ve always appreciated the straightforward and effective interface of GParted.
