Hi everyone, I'm experiencing issues with my system. I have four 8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz RAM sticks, a MSI MAG Tomahawk B550 motherboard, the latest BIOS, a Ryzen 5800X CPU, and a MSI 3060TI. When I set the RAM to 3600mhz via the XMP profile, my games frequently crash, and sometimes the whole PC shuts down. All four sticks are identical and approved for Ryzen. The crashes keep happening until I lower the speeds to 3400mhz, after which they haven't occurred. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
It's conceivable the RAM package isn't suited for those speeds. It's also likely your CPU's memory controller can't manage it. I'd just stick to stable settings, though you could attempt to return it and replace it with new RAM if needed. You might also try connecting two sticks at once.
AMD processors consistently limit maximum RAM rates across four modules, and this pattern continues in AM5 as well, meaning you should expect around 3400MHz for the highest speeds.
I faced the same issue when I purchased Vengeance RAM with a Ryzen chip, but after switching to Crucial Ballistix everything functioned flawlessly! Of course, as they advised, using two sticks in dual-channel mode is always superior for Ryzen processors.
