Hi, I’m dealing with a motherboard setup including an I5-13500 Asus B760M-A D4 board, 32GB RAM at 3200MHz, RTX 4070 X16, and a Creative AE5-Plus sound card. The bottom slot previously held an Audigy RX 5 but started having problems after an update attempt. I have a 1TB Samsung 980 for the OS, a 2TB Samsung 980 for storage, and a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro for extra PCIe space in the X16 X4 slot. The middle slot is a generic card reader, and there’s a Pioneer Bluray drive. I’m encountering installation failures due to a known hardware issue. I suspect the problem might be related to the CPU, not the sound card. Since I installed the AE5 Plus after the 24H2 update, I wasn’t able to resolve the issue with the older system. The last driver update for the RX 5 was in May 2011, and I haven’t tried reinstalling 24H2 after swapping the sound card. I’ll keep it as is for now.
It's possible... I also saw they do this intentionally because of the poor update quality, though I don't remember the precise reasons (though it seems related to "recall"). In my tests, 24h2 improved performance for my Ryzen CPU, but I still dislike it—SpyPilot is everywhere and the interface remains poor.

I understand that installing 24H2 caused issues with your sound card driver and reinstalling didn’t resolve the problem. The RX 5 driver was over a year old, but my AE 5Plus is functioning better now. It’s disappointing that 24H2 is problematic—maybe it’s a Microsoft or Intel issue. Interestingly, it works on my older Z220 HP with an I7-3770, which is quite outdated. It seems like certain features were intentionally disabled for compatibility reasons, making audio unpredictable and requiring restarts to restore functionality. This could point to Windows 11 or an outdated version of the installer.
Consider reinstalling Windows 11 23H2, as it might resolve the issue.
