I possess the entire storage space on my system that I’m unable to disable as Read-Only. Every attempt to adjust settings or assign permissions fails instantly. I’ve added a new user to the Windows Installer and granted full access, changed the driver owner multiple times, tried command-line adjustments, but nothing works. None of the solutions I found online have resolved the issue. What’s unusual is that folders display Read-Only while the actual files inside aren’t, yet they still can’t be transferred. Recently, I moved a small folder containing photos earlier today without issues. When I attempted to relocate around 300GB of video files, it suddenly appeared at about 30% progress. This poses a serious concern because this drive is central to my video editing workflow—currently full of 1.5TB of project files, and I can’t back them up. I reinstalled Windows 10 last week after a corrupt installation, but the problematic drive remains separate from my SATA SSD Windows install. This situation is a major setback; losing over half a dozen video projects due to a Windows glitch would be devastating. While some footage is spread across multiple drives, most of the less critical files are only on this one drive right now. I was actively trying to back them up when this problem surfaced.

Consider this option: click the drive with the right-click menu and proceed through the instructions. Alternatively, include it in the context menu, then right-click the drive and choose "Take Ownership".
