I attempted to search for instructions on creating a BIOS from a USB drive. I discovered this guide which seems applicable for a Tomahawk motherboard, though the steps might be similar. It should be useful: Greetings, This board includes Flashback+, meaning you don’t need a CPU to update the BIOS. To proceed: - Save >>Bios V1.82<< - Extract and copy the file "E7C02AMS.182" onto an empty root partition of the USB drive (max 16GB, FAT32 format only) - Rename it to "MSI.ROM" - Turn off the system - Insert the USB into the Flashback+ slot on the back panel: - Power it on and wait about 5 seconds - Press the Flash Bios button on the back panel (refer to the diagram above) - Watch the Flash Bios LED (and any USB pen light if present) flash, which may take up to 2 minutes - If it doesn’t work, try a different USB drive since Flashback+ might not support certain models - Once loaded, wait until all motherboard lights dim about 10 seconds after powering down - Note: If you’re not using a Ryzen 3000, use >>Bios V1.50<< (E7C02AMS.150) - Versions 1.70 and 1.82 are unstable for current CPUs and AMD; MSI won’t allow downgrading from them (good news with the right tool) - For more details, check this forum thread: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=320766.0 Thank you for sharing this, it was helpful.
