Unable to locate the appropriate Wi-Fi driver for your motherboard on Windows 10.
Hey there! Just wrapped up my PC build and now I'm using Ethernet. My motherboard (Z790 Gaming Wi-Fi 7) has built-in Wi-Fi, which is a bit new for me. The ASUS site only lists Windows 10 drivers for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so the software won't install properly. Everything online seems to point back to ASUS, but that's not helping. Anyone know where else I can get the right driver? Thanks!
You need the Windoes 10 edition, and your PC is running Windows 10. The installer shows this warning when you launch it. Chipset drivers worked fine before WiFi, but after updating Windows, the correct driver for the adapter isn’t installed even after restarting.
Adjust the configuration file directly or proceed with the installation script.
I located the Windows 11/64 drivers on the Asus website immediately: MediaTek Wi-Fi Driver V5.3.0.1246 for Windows Win11 64-bit—(WHQL). Version 5.3.0.1246 12.14 MB dated 2024/02/06. It appears to match the version for Windows 10/64. Installing the driver often fails when Windows isn’t fully updated. You might try using the LAN port or a USB Wi-Fi adapter to refresh Windows. Good luck!
