I need assistance getting my PC to run games. It seems I can't launch them through Steam, even though they work fine. My system is only three months old and has an Intel i7 13700K and AMD Ryzen 7800 XT with an ASUS M1. It’s not just with Steam games—it also affects other titles like Minecraft. The computer seems fine overall. Any advice on what’s been happening for a week?

Ensure all drivers are properly installed and free of issues following the Windows reinstall. Check your event logs for any application errors linked to your games. To access the logs, open Start and search for Event Viewer. Navigate to the Application section; errors typically display IDs starting around 1000. Also, review the system logs for any graphics-related entries.

When you attempt to begin a game, the Steam interface typically displays a prompt asking if you want to start it. No automatic launch occurs unless you click "Start" or select an option.

The game or program begins but displays only a black screen. It displays "Program not responding." Should you close it or wait for it to react?

If you overclocked anything you'll definitely want to reverse that. If nothing is overclocked, you may want to try running DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in safe mode, rebooting, and then re-install the graphics drivers manually. If you're unfamiliar with DDU, here's an okay YT tutorial: https://youtu.be/GrXSLaSRkw8?si=-cIcl6MjcxmRrWlB&t=144

Start the game and press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. Check the performance tab for any processes at 100% or close to it—those are likely good targets to begin. Share your observations.
