Hey, so i've been building new pc (my first time). After following tutorials and guides, i've been able to assemble them. The spec are: - Asrock B550M Pro4 - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - T-FORCE Delta RGB 8 GB x 2 DDR4 RAM - Gigabyte RX 580 8 GB - WD Blue 1 TB 3.5" HDD - Seagate Barracuda 500 GB 2.5" HDD - Seasonic GX-550 PSU Problem is, when i'm trying to install OS, i can't. - With windows, driver not found - With Linux Mint, Errno 5 : Input/Output error I can boot to Linux Mint via USB, but when trying to install, got error. What i've tried : - Disable CSM, Secure Boot - Switch to RAID, tired installing SATA Floppy Image ver:9.3.0.158 from Asrock website - Checking Linux Mint ISO hash as the web instructed. It's valid - Switching 3 different USB Drive, and many different USB ports - Updating Motherboard BIOS to the newest version Unfortunately, none works. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

You checked that the storage type is suitable and the HDD meets the requirements, such as using Linux ISOs with an MD5 hash for verification. This error in Linux typically points to a defective disk, suggesting the HDD being installed might be faulty.

Initially I thought it was the same issue. So I bought a new HDD (the WD one), but it still had the same problem. Also, I ran e2fsck on it. From what I remember, it reported 0/0/0 bad sector/error(?).

During installation of Linux Mint, the issue appears to occur frequently with: Squashfs error – zlib decompression failed. Does this information assist?

For Linux Mint, I recommend checking your download first: https://linuxmint.com/verify.php. This ensures you have a functional copy. I’m not sure if Windows offers a similar verification method.

I've attempted that, it works. Unfortunately, I still encounter Errno 5.

Are your connections set up properly? Each cable needs to connect to the power supply and the motherboard. Some systems turn off SATA ports when you add M.2 or NVMe drives.

Yeah, the cables are correct There's no M.2 or NVME installed at all

I see you're checking RAID settings, but it seems the drive isn't appearing when using AHCI. Let's try a different SATA cable and test one RAM stick at a time. Running Memtest86 could help confirm the RAM is functioning properly. It might point to a hardware issue or a problem with the system software. Have you adjusted the version number?

Consider checking the latest system update or turning off raid functionality.
