Unable to install BIOS update for ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F
HALP! Updating BIOS on my graphics card isn't working! ASUS chat support didn’t help much. They suggested using FlashBack, but it just flashes the light three times then stays stuck. I left it there for half an hour, hoping something would happen, but a steady light after those blinks means the setup failed.
Looking back: I thought updating was necessary because the network card seems misconfigured. I’m unsure if it’s a hardware issue, but Windows won’t let me enable Bluetooth or WiFi, even though they appear in System Information (copy that info from the bottom of this post). Any advice would be appreciated.
What I’ve tried so far: downloaded the latest BIOS from Asus (version 2423), ran the included renamer script, moved the renamed .CAP file to a FAT32 USB drive, booted into BIOS and used Flash 3. When targeting that CAP file it says “not a valid UEFI BIOS.” I also tried FlashBack, which didn’t work. Checked AMOURY CRATE (see screenshots), which shows my BIOS version as 1804 (released Feb '21). But when I open Tools > BIOS it says no new versions are available.
I’m worried about the network problems combined with this BIOS issue—my card might be faulty. It was bought back in July from Micro Center, so I think I’m outside retail warranty but still within ASUS coverage. Thanks for reading and for any help upfront! I tried inserting v 1805 onto the USB stick and attempting an update, but the same error appeared in Flash 3—“not a valid UEFI BIOS.”

I solved this by getting some advice from a friend on my friend's Discord. The issue was that I had the B-550F BIOS updates, but my board was actually B-550F WIFI. I didn’t think about a version without WiFi. I downloaded the correct (with WiFi) BIOS update onto a flash drive and it functioned properly. For the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problem, I assumed the update would fix it, but it didn’t. I had to power off the computer, unplug it, and let it rest without power. I’m not sure why that worked, but it did. After rebooting, both Windows and Linux on a separate drive recognized the controllers.
