The process failed, showing errors like reading package lists and issues with the Chrome browser package. The dependency tree was built successfully, but the required files couldn't be found.

Should be http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ ubuntu/dists/zesty etc, the "dists" is missing in each line. But you'd be getting way outdated software. Should update the whole distro (i.e. fresh reinstall of current version) unless there's a really good reason not to (seems nothing is installed, so nothing to lose?)

Updates tend to fail once support ends, so a complete reinstall is usually needed.

That system refers to a specific framework or mechanism, though its exact nature isn't detailed here.

Ethan here reports the installation process has started. The package repository was added successfully from the team-xbmc PPA. The latest version of software-properties-common is installed, and the update command completed without issues. Some packages still need attention, but the setup is progressing.
