I'm trying to assemble my first build and am having trouble locating the seat of power connector in my power supply. I've reviewed the motherboard manual and watched several YouTube tutorials, but none clearly show how to insert it. Your guidance would be really helpful.

Only the CPU with 4/8 pins and a 24-pin connector is connected to the motherboard. SATA ports go straight into the hard drive or SSD. A few fans also utilize SATA power. You'll also require a SATA data cable linking the motherboard to the hard drive.

SATA power goes to SATA drives (hard drive, SSD, or optical). If you don't have any of those, you don't need to plug it in anywhere.

The power source comes from the PSU. The bigger connector handles power, while the smaller one connects to one of the four ports on the motherboard’s right side.

I successfully connected the drive to the motherboard, though I wasn’t aware the power was routed straight to it. It’s unclear why I overlooked that detail, but you certainly helped save me a lot of time. Thanks a lot!

Only the SATA data connectors are installed on the motherboard. The other side of the SATA data and power cables is linked to the HDD/SSD or the device you wish to attach. Updated June 3, 2021 by Kilrah Removed note about posting to incorrect forum.

Access your BIOS settings and find an option like "Network boot" or "PXE." Make sure it is turned off. Verify the boot sequence and eliminate any network-related features.

You're doing great, but now you're getting asked to pick the right boot device again. In the boot menu, choose the only available option, and it should stop the prompt after rebooting.
