Hello, I purchased an used RX5700XT sapphire with 8GB RAM on a local site. The seller mentioned it wasn’t used for mining, just for gaming, so I bought it to swap my rx580. Since then, I’ve faced problems: when playing 1080p games, the card doesn’t perform well, only reaching about 80-90 FPS in GTAV max, with VSync turned off and a 240Hz monitor. The utilization stays around 30-40%. In CSGO it’s even worse—just 3-4% usage with 120-160 FPS, which is much lower than my rx580. It looks like the card is genuine, but I’ve tried flashing the BIOS without success. TRINXXX can’t detect it, though HWInfo, GPU-Z, and official AMD software do. What’s going on?
You mean Sapphire Trixx. It might be a bug where it is saying "NITRO+ 6600XT" because all the information about the GPU itself is correct. Navi 10, 251mm 2 die size, memory amount + type, memory bus, etc. GPU-Z, and every other software properly identifies the card as a 5700 XT -- then you have nothing to worry about. Double check to MAKE SURE your RAM is actually running at DDR4-3200 with XMP / DOCP enabled. If XMP / DOCP is NOT enabled, it will run a just DDR4-2133, and it will impact CPU performance. The 5700 XT Pulse uses 1x PCI-E 8-pin and 1x PCI-E 6-pin power connectors. Make sure both are connected. What motherboard are you using? Brand and model. I've got a Ryzen 5 3600x. I ran a Kombuster stress test for an hour and the usage stayed high—around 96-99%. Temperatures were in the high 70s, which seems normal. But in less intense games it feels slower. My motherboard is a B550 Gaming Plus by MSI. Interestingly, when playing esports games like Valorant, CS:GO, or Genshin Impact with FPS enabled, power usage drops compared to my CPU, which draws about 55 watts. My GPU uses 40-60 watts, which is odd since reviews say the card draws close to 200W. During stress testing I saw a peak of 110 watts. I have a 550-watt PSU, but I’m not sure if that’s the issue. I’ve tried everything in software so far.
