The problem described involves difficulty accessing the Ubuntu server from a Windows machine. Despite having used Windows for years without issues, the connection remains unresolved. Router port forwarding appears correct, and UFW firewall allows 25565, though it’s currently disabled. The server runs on *:25565, but attempts to connect via 0.0.0.0 or other IPs don’t resolve the issue. On my Windows PC, Java 21.0.1 fails to connect, while Java 18 works fine on the host. Ubuntu 22.04.3 is running a Minecraft server that uses a different port due to a velocity proxy. I suspect Java is listening on port 25565 through the default gateway. From what I understand, local access should work now, but scaling to support 30-40 users poses challenges. I’m considering reverting to Windows if this remains unsolved. All troubleshooting steps tried so far have been exhausted. Additional notes: host hardware is an AMD 5600x with RTX3060 and 48GB DDR4, connected via Ethernet to a PoE switch over a symmetrical Gigabit internet connection through Spectrum.

@Woodworker Is there a way to connect from another device to the Ubuntu PC using ping and receive a response? You might need to learn how to use the nmap command line to see which ports are open. The command format here is quite confusing, and I haven’t tried to remember it well, so I’m unsure if there’s another tool you can use for this task.
