the manual options are available but may require going that way. confirmed the sticks are in the right channels and cleared the CMOS if needed. clarification: xmp selection works, but you’ll need to save and restart for changes to apply.

Oh god stupid me, I somehow thought that after selecting a profile the speed should change immediately instead of it taking effect after a restart. All good now, thank you.
