Hi! I just set up a new PC and am having trouble detecting the Wi-Fi antenna on my motherboard. I tried some fixes like installing drivers and switching distros, but nothing seems to work. Right now I'm using a Gigabyte AORUS Pro X X670E board with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D chipset. I'm not sure what's going wrong and would appreciate any advice or details you can provide. Thanks!
It seems there might be a connection problem. Please share your motherboard model and/or the WiFi card model for assistance.
Your system runs a Gigabyte AORUS Pro X X670E motherboard and a Qualcomm WCN785x Wi-Fi 7 network card. The system indicates you're using the ath12k-pci driver.
Check the output of "uname -a" to identify the kernel version in use.
I'm encountering some issues with getting these cards to function properly. There are discussions suggesting that newer cards might not always receive sufficient firmware updates from Manjaro. I think there could be a chance the card is quite recent and firmware distribution isn't keeping up. Checking the Ath12k firmware repository on GitHub might help. It's possible that a lucky timing issue caused the firmware to remain loaded, allowing it to work initially.
They don't provide driver downloads on their site and suggest checking the official computer support page. I learned Qualcomm is improving Linux compatibility from kernel 6.8 and 6.9—update your kernel via Settings/Manage r and ensure you're using 6.9. Also verify all related icons are up to date.
