Unable to delete the USB 3.0 header from the motherboard.
This approach seems to be the most promising option. It’s not going to be simple, but it offers the best chance to get the socket to release the connector. I’m amazed at how difficult these connections can be to remove. I previously removed the plastic cover from the motherboard before, with the connector still on, leaving the pins exposed even after removal. Fortunately, in all those instances the pins remained straight, allowing me to slide the plastic piece back over them.
Consider checking if any sections of the socket require trimming before installation to avoid repeating the previous approach.
Simply connect it at the end and set your cable management settings, probably.
I used a low-cost Chinese cable/adapter USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 with a male connector. It overheated quickly, so I removed it before it damaged my Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 motherboard's USB 3.0 header. I worked carefully, testing both sides, and eventually succeeded. The surrounding shielding melted instead of the header itself. Be patient and avoid forcing it.
