Unable to connect to Windows and cannot reach the BIOS settings.
Hello everyone! My sister couldn't remember her password, so I checked it. It looks like I can't boot from an external drive in BIOS. I tried activating the admin profile from Safe Mode with Command Prompt, but the prompt didn't appear and I ended up on the login screen. What should I do? (Sorry for my unclear English)
1. Keep the laptop powered down, take out every USB device, start the computer and press F2. Switch the boot setting to Legacy and turn off Secure Boot.
2. On the login screen, while pressing Shift, click Power>Restart. Go to Troubleshoot, then choose update firmware/UEFI or similar options. Restart again to enter BIOS settings.
Unfortunately these two choices didn't work. The first one led me to the "Windows Boot Manager," which asks me to press F8 to select an advanced option (Windows 7 Home Premium). There I found Safe Mode, Safe Mode with CMD, etc. The second method worked only if I restarted while holding Shift, resulting in a standard reboot. Thanks!
